Teamwork is all about putting yourself into the other person’s shoes and look at the world through their eyes. It’s all about ‘us’ and ‘we’ rather than ‘I’ or ‘me’. To be an important part of a successful team you will have to be a team player. You will have to be in coordination with each one of the team members. Or else, a thoroughly planned out project may fail.
Now, being a part of a team is not easy. Especially it becomes harder when you are joining in some already established team. You will have to know each one of the team before you get to work with them properly. However, this is a time consuming process. You will need to spend time with each of them to know them better. And time is something you will not get in a corporate. You will put into a team and you will be expected to perform and be a team player within a few hours.
You may face problems while getting settled rather you will face problems. There may come a time you feel all by yourselves. You may want to talk to someone and not find anyone. Frustration may build up and you start feeling the weight of the responsibility.
To battle all these, you should seek help from an experienced executive mentor. This person will hear your side of story and point out the mistakes you are making. Mentoring is not brainwashing. This is just a process which helps you bring out your best.
